V de V Championship: Dijon 27th - 28th August, 2005 An unfortunate early finish caused by a red flag with 6 minutes to go robbed Norma pairing Jonathan Coleman and Nigel Greensall of the win at Dijon. After securing pole position on Saturday, Nigel had been racing with the Bicknall of Chris Ward for the final hour, swapping the lead 10 times. The RSR Norma actually led across the line, but the red flag roll back handed the victory to Ward who had led the lap before. Meanwhile, Simon Phillips joined by Adam Derbyshire in his first Norma outing, were enjoying a good race after qualifying in 6th place. Final result: 5th overall and 4th in class however, a better result was on the cards before a slow fuel stop cost two laps when the pump didn't pump! Radical runners Adrian Mardlin and Rob Croydon had a mixed weekend, Rob did a fantastic job of qualifying the car 9th overall and 2nd in class but the race effort was hampered by a misfire at the start of the race which cost them 6 laps. Final result 19th overall and 4th in class after a solid race albeit without a clutch. Following an engine blow up in testing the Lord's SR3 ran well, Steve opting to hand over to Gary after 1 hour leaving him a monster 2 hour stint in very hot conditions to finish the race.
